LangRecall Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 30, 2026
LangRecall ("the app") is a vocabulary trainer for Chinese, Russian, Spanish, Catalan, German and Persian, plus English for Chinese speakers. It is made by Kevin Coffey ("I", "me"), an individual developer based in Spain. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app.
The short version
- The app has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
- Your study progress is saved only on your own device. I never receive it.
- I do not collect, sell or share any personal information.
What is stored on your device
To remember your progress, the app saves the following on your phone or tablet:
- which words you have practised and how well you know them
- your list of challenging words
- your settings, such as level, theme, text size and practice options
This information stays on your device. It is not sent to me or to anyone else. You can delete it at any time by clearing the app's data in your device settings or by uninstalling the app.
Progress backups
If you choose Export under Settings → Progress Backup, the app creates a file containing your progress and settings. You decide where to save or send it, for example to your own cloud storage, email or another device. The file never goes to me. If you choose Import, the app reads a backup file that you pick and replaces the progress on that device.
Internet use
The app works fully offline. Its words, fonts and settings are all built in, and it does not connect to any server, including mine.
App stores
If you download the app from Google Play or the Apple App Store, that store may collect information about your download and device under its own privacy policy. I may see anonymous, aggregated statistics that the stores provide, such as the total number of installs, but I cannot identify you from them.
Children
The app is suitable for learners of all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or under 14 in Spain).
Your rights
If you live in the European Union, the GDPR gives you rights to access, correct, delete and object to the processing of your personal data. Because the app does not send your data to me, I hold no personal data about you. You control everything stored on your device and can delete it as described above. If you contact me by email, I will use your email address only to reply and will delete it on request.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Spain, that is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es).
Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, for example by adding optional accounts or online features, I will update this policy and change the effective date above. For significant changes, I will also let you know inside the app.
